Thankful Thursday #4 in March
I was watching the weather report on TV yesterday morning. The average high temperature in my area should be about 50 degrees. I laughed! It was so cold. It took a long time for my windshield to clear from the frost/ice that had built up over the night. Still, I could see the beautiful sunrise in the morning!
I am thankful for so many things this week. Here are a few of them:
First One
I am seeing some breakthroughs with my students! These are the ones that I have prayed and hoped for for a long time. Imagine a student writing his/her first essay!
Second One
I am finally done with testing all our ELLs. I feel that I can actually breathe more freely now! Our school is over 40% ELL, so the time it takes to make sure that everyone is tested in all four domains just takes time.
Third One
Peace for both my daughter and I after her wallet was stolen. We have had many short phone calls sorting everything out. God has been good!
Fourth One
Being healthy!! After a couple of minor bugs I feel good again. I am so thankful that nothing turned into a big deal.
Fifth One
Meaningful conversations. I have been able to have a few very meaningful conversations with my high school students.
Sixth One
Inspiration! I am thankful for this blogging community that continues to provide inspiration to be a better teacher, and how to communicate better.
What are you thankful for today?

I'm thankful for my doggie's health!!! Grateful for laughter and for Zone Day today in school! It's a day where we celebrate all of our hard work for the quarter with a day of reading!!!! I LOVE my job! :)
ReplyDeleteZone day sounds really wonderful! Glad your dog is feeling better as well!
DeleteI too am thankful for the writing community we have been apart of these past 27 days, health, rain and family. Thank you for asking. :)

DeleteThankful Thursday - What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to be home. We had a blizzard yesterday. (I really love snowstorms! Everything and everyone slows down.)
I am thankful that even though temperatures are below normal, the daffodil shoots are poking their heads out of the ground. I am thankful that the robins have returned. Springlike weather can't be far behind.
ReplyDeleteThankful for the sun and all the wonderful people who are part of my life. You too. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteSo much to be thankful for! Wow...I'm glad that you got everything sorted out after your daughter lost her wallet. That is the worst feeling! Also, I can't believe your school is 40% ELL! Wow! You certainly have an important job.
ReplyDelete#6. Today I am thankful for #6.
ReplyDeleteI just got back from my training for the Next Chapter Book Club and I am grateful for YOU for bringing me to this wonderful organization. I will be writing more about when I have time to process it all. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI too am thankful for this incredible writing community. I have had a tough week but writing, reading and your support has helped me thought the dark points. I am thankful that I joined this "group."
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for opportunities to partner with others which I was able to do today. - On a side note, I find it interesting how each state handles testing of ELL's. We do ours in the summer and it must be completed by October 31st. Our larger schools that are 70-90% ELLs get team support to complete all the testing. It makes for a crazy start of the school year.
ReplyDeleteI have been thankful for this writing community all month long, with one of the highlights being meeting you in your town that was a far cry from 50 degrees! Sorry to hear about your daughter and her wallet--what a great big pain!
ReplyDeleteYou know in just about every moment there can be found something to be thankful for. I don't always look so I don't always see. To sum up I guess I would say God's amazing grace because to me all thankfulness flows from there. Thank you for posing the question! :)
