Thankful Thursday #2 in March

I could not resist posting one more snowy picture! The snow on Wednesday made everything look so beautiful!

But hey, it's Thursday already! There is much to be thankful for. Here are my top five:

1.
When I first started on twitter, I did not think that anyone would ever follow me! I am so thankful for the connections that I have made on twitter, and the wonderful people who have decided to follow me! Thank you!

2.
For some reason I have been really tired this week. I could maybe blame it on the time change, I don't know. However, I am thankful for a snow day!!!! I got to relax, help a person that is one of my six (you can read more about that here), read more blogs and comment! So, I am thankful that I did not have to drive to school in the blowing snow yesterday!

3.
One of my students was absent on Monday. I am not sure if this will make me sound like bad teacher, but I was so thankful that this student was absent. We were able to accomplish so much more on Monday. Everyone was on task. Everything moved smoothly. The day felt like a mini vacation. (Then I read Anita's post yesterday, and felt really guilty.) I am thankful that he came back to school on Tuesday.

4.
I am so thankful for all the comments that the bloggers in this wonderful community are leaving on my blog! You are validating my writing! If I have not stopped by your blog, please leave me comment, and I will come!

5.
Markers and pens are my small treasures! I am thankful for a newish set of makers that I have. I have been trying something new with my writer's notebook at home, and those markers are wonderful! (more to come on a later date). I am thankful for learning new ways to express my thoughts.

  1. Love this little list of your things you are thankful for. And I totally get #3. As much as you work hard to love each student, sometimes it's nice to have a break. Look forward to reading more about your markers and notebook.

  3. It's okay to be thankful for the snow (as long as it's in your world and not mine). I'm thankful the snow predicted for Wednesday didn't happen here. We all have those students that disrupt classroom life, a mini-vacation is appreciated, sometimes.

  4. I am so thankful that we only had an inch of snow. It was so pretty on the trees that I thought about snapping a picture but it was time to "get moving" and then I was behind the car driving 25 mph. . . Thanks for sharing your thankful thinking!

    1. Yesterday's snow was beautiful, but my drive this morning was really icy! I think I am more ready for spring today!

  5. This is definitely a great way to start the day! I enjoy your "Thankful Thursdays." I was pleased to see the snow on your list! So many of us--myself included--grumble and complain when we hear forecasts telling us that spring has hidden her face once again and winter is back! Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for all things!

  8. Love your list, especially reading about snow when I couldn't be farther from it. Glad I don't see any of it here. We did have to deal with some rain though.
    Enjoy...

  9. I don't think you should feel guilty at all about your absent student. Sometimes it is those breaks that gives us the energy to go on, and maybe make a difference as in Anita's post. Happy Friday to you!

  10. PS. I know what you mean about "that" student being absent - we all have one of those, and we all need one of those absent days!

  11. Absolutely beautiful picture. I had to smile at #3 on your list. :-) There have been days that I have felt the same exact way. I was so excited the other day when I received a free Sharpie Pen! As you can tell it doesn't take much to get me all excited.

  12. All such nice things, Jaana, & happy for your snow day if you're happy! We still have not had one, seems the storms touch us on the edge then move and expand in the east. We're always hopeful! I'm looking forward to you posting about your new pens! Thanks much for all!

  14. I get them all - even number 3. It's like snow days, even if you have to pay for them later, a day of peace is still a day of peace!
