Slice of Life #25
Thankful for warm weather; no ice.
Wondering about the coming summer--steaming??
Wishing for a seat by lake
maybe a small cottage to relax.
It is still winter with three
more months of school year left.
Already planning a trip to homeland.
Seeing friends, relatives and new babies.
Great chocolate, lake swimming and sauna.
I better book my flight soon!
Yes, since it is warm and beautiful already, it causes one to wonder what is coming, but there is nothing we can do about that but pray, right? I love the idea of a cottage by the lake with family.
ReplyDeletea cottage to relax in sounds so peaceful to me to
ReplyDeleteI like how you used 6-words in each sentences! I am excited for summer in a few months as well. :)

"Already planning a trip to homeland.
ReplyDeleteSeeing friends, relatives and new babies."
I'm doing this exact thing! I can't believe it, but when I return home this summer after being abroad for 10 months, I will have 7 new babies to meet! I can't wait!!! :)

I love the parallel with no ice and spring coming and new babies - new life! It is refreshing!
ReplyDeleteThe "great chocolate" caught my eye. I have had Bavarian and Swiss chocolates and they are wonderful! Where is home?
ReplyDeleteYou sound so hopeful and a little excited. I can remember being away from home. The excitement of where I was, but home always called me back.
ReplyDeleteI have lived away from the "homeland" for a long time, but it is always exciting to go back!
DeleteI love six word memoirs. I like the way you put yours together in a poem. And what's better than writing about summer plans?
ReplyDeleteSix words a line make you have to consider word choice carefully. Great images with so few words. I want to sit by a lake in the warm sunshine with some good chocolate. Join me?
ReplyDelete"Wishing for a seat by lake" - there is just something about being near the water that makes for perfect summer moments, right? I like the six-word idea. I am a complete-sentence-with-lotsa-details kinda writer. This might be a good challenge for me!
ReplyDeleteI love how each group of 6 words says so much. I especially love the "Already planning a trip to homeland." It makes me think about how excited you must be.
ReplyDeleteI think we all need a cottage to relax!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun slice - I had heard about the 6 word memoir but haven't actually seen it done. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting way to use six words. I'll have to try this! Nicely done! So you've been gone from your homeland for a long time- makes me wonder. I'm sure you have a story to tell. Thanks for sharing! Happy Slicing! :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing friends, relatives and new babies.
ReplyDeleteI have a new great niece to meet on spring break. Thank goodness for airplanes that can connect us when we live far away from family!
We're on the countdown to the end now! Looking forward to going home for the summer too, although it's not out of the country!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your flight and can dip your toes sooner rather than later. I too look forward to those moments near water, so relaxing.
ReplyDelete"Wishing for a seat by lake
ReplyDeletemaybe a small cottage to relax"
I love this! Spring break is next week, but it doesn't look like much rest for me! We may be packing to move if the appraisal of our house goes through!
6 word comment:
ReplyDeleteHow 6 words make a difference!
I want it too....come on summer :)
ReplyDeleteSix words...tricky! Your poem had me nodding along with you. I wish for the relaxation of summer too!
ReplyDeleteI have an idea for a future post-maybe I'll try this six words-great fun. This weather is making us nostalgic for summer way too soon-3 months to wait! Considering the gas prices maybe you should book soon? Thanks for stopping by my post. I appreciate the support!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your encouraging comments!! I have decided that my last slice of life will also be 6 word stories. Check back on Saturday
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever. It's amazes me that you could do all six word sentences and still tell a story. I want to try it. And the cottage by a lake sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you end up doing one using 6 word sentences. I would love to read your stories.
